100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training In Rishikesh, India

12-Day Foundation Course – Counts Towards Your Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Certificate

If you are looking for a comprehensive course to deepen your yoga skills or are just beginning your yoga journey, the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh is the perfect way to begin your yoga education with a strong foundation. As one of the most accessible entry points into yoga teacher training in India, this course will broaden your yogic knowledge, introduce you to practical postures, and give you a head start on various yoga practices such as:

  • Meditation
  • Hatha Yoga
  • Pranayama
  • Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
  • Mantra Chanting
  • Mudra Poses
  • History and Philosophy of Yoga
  • Human Anatomy

Our major goal at Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh is to equip the students with a comprehensive understanding of yoga philosophy and various yogic practices. Our 100 Hour Yoga TTC in Rishikesh is designed to focus on perfecting your yogic postures as well as impart holistic knowledge of the history and philosophy of yoga. This ensures you are completely equipped with all the necessary information and ready to continue to the full 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training whenever you choose.

Twelve residential days in Rishikesh cover ground that a weekly class at home would take the better part of a year to reach, which is why so many practitioners choose yoga instructor training in India for their first formal course. You practise twice daily, eat and study alongside the same small group, and learn from teachers who have been living this schedule for decades rather than teaching it from a manual.

100 Hour Yoga TTC in Rishikesh also acts as a stepping stone for students who prefer to carry on working towards a higher level of teacher training. It has the warm-up and basic practice every future yoga teacher has to go through before going any further on that path!

The 100-hour program is a foundational step toward a complete yoga instructor teacher training, giving you the opportunity to experience residential yoga study before committing to the full 200-hour program. It is designed for students who want to deepen their practice, explore the ashram lifestyle, and build a strong foundation in yoga. Students who are certain they want to teach usually book the full 200-hour straight away, while those who want to experience a residential ashram schedule before committing four weeks and a larger fee may find the 100-hour program a suitable starting point. Both are sensible choices; they simply answer different questions.

Yoga TTC Students Enjoying Sattvic Food at Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh
Yogic Food

At Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh, we serve three Sattvic meals every day in a simple and nutritious way. Every dish is lovingly prepared by following the ancient Indian philosophy of Ayurveda, known for its nourishing and healing qualities. Our meals follow a yogic diet, designed to suit different tastes and preferences.

Our focus is to serve fresh, nutritious food that supports your body, cleanses your system, and provides lasting energy for your yoga training in Rishikesh.

We source all fruits and vegetables directly from local shops, ensuring freshness, high quality and preserved nutrients in every meal.

Meet the Experienced Yoga Teachers

The right teacher does not just teach yoga — they change the way you see it.

Every instructor at our school is E-RYT certified by Yoga Alliance USA with 10 to 15+ years of hands-on teaching experience, and several have been here since the school began in 2010. They did not come to yoga as a profession; they came to it as a practice, and the teaching followed naturally from that.

What makes the difference in a classroom is not always the credentials — it is whether the person standing in front of you is genuinely paying attention. Ours are. They notice the student in the back who is holding back, they see when something is off in your posture before you feel it yourself, and they know when to push and when to simply let the practice do its work. For many who train here, it is the teachers they think about long after the course ends.

FAQs - 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh

Curious about the course, stay, or daily life? We've got your questions covered
Q. Who Can Join the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course?

Ans. Anyone interested in yoga can enroll for training in this 100 Hour Yoga TTC in Rishikesh. However, we recommend participants prepare themselves for this intensive course beforehand by starting to practice some asanas at home before your warm welcome to Rishikul Yogshala, Rishikesh. You can start as simply as reading some beginner’s books on yoga to begin understanding this ancient science. This will make you one step ahead when you join us, so you can easily grasp the curriculum being taught by us.

Q. Is the Rishikul Yogshala Certificate Valid Internationally?

Ans. Please note that for the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course, you will be receiving a completion certificate, and upon completing the remaining 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course, you will have a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance USA.

Q. Do I Need Any Prior Yoga Experience to Enroll?

Ans. No, participants are not expected to have any prior experience or expertise in yoga before enrolling in any of our yoga teacher training courses. However, it is always beneficial to have a basic understanding or awareness of yoga, its common forms, and its basic philosophy, which will enable you to understand the concepts taught in class even better. Practising yoga for a few months before entering the yoga training is beneficial.

Q. Can I Arrive Early or Stay After the Course Ends?

Ans. Yes, you are always welcome to stay for an extra day before or after your 100 Hour Yoga Course, based on accommodation availability. Additionally, an extra stay is subject to an additional charge. For detailed information, please contact us before your arrival.

Q. Should I book the 100-hour or go straight to the 200-hour?

Ans. If you already know you want to teach, book the 200-hour. It is the level studios and insurers recognise, and doing the 100-hour first will cost you slightly more overall than booking the full course at once. The 100-hour makes sense if you have limited leave from work, if a four-week commitment feels like too much for a first visit to India, or if you mainly want to deepen your own practice rather than teach. Tell us honestly which of the two describes you and we will say so if the shorter course is the wrong fit.

Q. How do I reach Rishikul Yogshala from Dehradun Airport (DED) or New Delhi?

Ans. Rishikul Yogshala is located in Ram Jhula, Rishikesh, approximately 20 km (45 minutes) from Dehradun Airport (DED). We provide or can arrange direct airport pickup services upon request. If arriving via New Delhi (IGI Airport), you can take a domestic flight to Dehradun, an overnight air-conditioned Volvo bus, or the train to Haridwar Junction, where our team coordinates station pickups.

Q. Do international students need a special visa for a yoga teacher training course in India?

Ans. A tourist e-Visa is what you need. Apply at indianvisaonline.gov.in before departure and choose the 1-year multiple-entry option rather than the 30-day one. A student visa is only issued for universities, so it is not the right choice for a yoga course. Rishikul Yogshala can send you a confirmation letter upon enrollment if you need one.

Q. Do the hours from this yoga course teacher training count toward the 200-hour certification?

Ans. Yes. The 100 hours you complete here carry forward, so when you return for the remaining 100 hours you finish with a full 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance USA. There is no time limit on coming back, and many students return the following year. You do not repeat any part of the syllabus you have already covered.

Q. Is this yoga training teacher course residential, and how long is a typical day?

Ans. Yes, it is fully residential. Accommodation and all meals for the 12 days are included in the fee, and you live on campus at Ram Jhula for the duration. Days begin early with morning practice and run through asana, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, and evening meditation, with rest periods built in between sessions. Living on site is a large part of why 12 days achieves what it does; there is no commute and no switching back into ordinary routine each evening.

Sooraj Clinus Review For Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh

Rishikul Yogshala gave me a truly meaningful experience, where I learned not just Yoga technique but also a deeper understanding of the practice and myself. The teachers were knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely dedicated to helping students grow both personally and in their practice. Alma Cons Review For Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh

My experience in Rishikul has been life changing and healing. The teachers are wonderful and you can see their passion for their profession, the staff is really helpful and nice. The group that we made was like a family, saying goodbye was really hard. The Sattvic food was delicious, the soya curry and the beans one were my favs. The accommodation was good until we change from an outside building to a room in the school, it was okay for me anyways but the rooms in the school need a little bit of care, they are really really humid. Besides from that, I felt at home, safe and really happy with the experience.

I leave with nothing else but gratefulness. Thank you for everything.

Alessandro Sabbatini Review For Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh

My experience in Rishikul has been a treasure. The atmosphere, teachers and facilities are just radiating true Yoga, which is treated and shared with great respect and passion.

The teachers are incredibly knowledgable and caring. They promote discipline but with a great deal of kindness and humanity.

Thanks to this course I went through a huge transformation and now I have the tools to keep improving myself in my daily practice.

I am so thankful and glad to have chosen this place!
