Q. Which airport should I fly to?

Ans. The nearest airport is Dehradun (DED) – 1.5 hours from the school. Alternatively, you can fly to New Delhi (DEL) – approx. 5.5–6 hours by road.

Q. What is the best way to travel from Delhi to Rishikesh?

Ans. The most comfortable option is a taxi (5.5–6 hours). You may also take a domestic flight to Dehradun, train to Haridwar, or Volvo bus depending on your budget and preference.

Q. Will you handle travel arrangements once I arrive in India?

Ans. Yes. We can arrange paid airport/train pickups from Dehradun, Haridwar, or Delhi upon receiving your travel details.

Q. If I book a taxi, what would be the fare?

Ans. Dehradun Airport: USD 25. Delhi Airport: USD 80.

Q. When should I arrive for the course?

Ans. Check-in is one day before the course start date (6th of the month before 7 PM). Orientation begins on the 7th of the month.

Q. Is Rishikesh safe for travelers?

Ans. Yes, Rishikesh is widely regarded as a safe and serene destination. Known as the Yoga Capital of the World, it offers a peaceful environment ideal for yoga enthusiasts, spiritual seekers, and solo travelers alike. Its calm atmosphere and welcoming community make it one of the safest places to explore in India.

Q. Can I buy a SIM card in India?

Ans. Yes. SIM cards are available at airports or local stores. You will need a copy of your passport and visa.

Q. What kind of visa do I need?

Ans. Most students apply for an E-Tourist Visa via the official Indian government website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/Registration

Q. Do I need vaccinations?

Ans. There are no mandatory vaccinations required for India (may vary by country). Please consult your doctor for personal advice.

Q. How is the healthcare facility in case of any specific need?

Ans. India has good hospitals and doctors who can be contacted, if necessary. Please contact the Reception desk for further assistance.


Accommodation & Food

Q. What types of accommodations are available at Rishikul Yogshala, Rishikesh?

Ans. We have two options: Accommodation in a private room and Accommodation in a shared room. The rooms are distributed in order of reservation. Private rooms tend to run out earlier.

Q. Can I stay outside and attend classes only?

Ans. No. All TTC programs are residential courses to maintain discipline and immersive learning.

Q. Can I stay extra days?

Ans. Yes, extra nights can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability.

Q. Can a family member/friend stay with me?

Ans. Outside guests are not allowed without prior permission. Extra charges will apply if approved.

Q. Do you provide gluten-free or vegan food?

Ans. Yes. We serve vegetarian yogic meals daily. Vegan and basic gluten-free options can be accommodated on prior notice at the time of booking.

Q. Will I receive certification after the course?

Ans. Yes. Upon successful completion (attendance + assessment), you will receive a school certificate, making you eligible to apply for Yoga Alliance registration.

Q. What is the difference between a 100-hour and 200-hour course? Which is beginner-friendly?

Ans. 100-Hour TTC: Introductory level, suitable for beginners or personal practice. 200-Hour TTC: Foundational professional course; beginner-friendly but more intensive. For teaching eligibility, the 200-hour is recommended.

Q. Is the 100-hour course internationally recognized?

Ans. The 100-hour course provides a school completion certificate, but Yoga Alliance registration requires a minimum of 200 hours.

Q. Can I start teaching after the course?

Ans. Yes. After completing the 200-hour (or higher), you can teach yoga professionally.

Q. What is the difference between a 200-hour and 500-hour TTC?

Ans. 200-Hour: Foundational teacher training. 500-Hour: Advanced-level training (200 + 300 hours combined) with deeper study in philosophy, anatomy, sequencing, and teaching methodology.

Q. What are the prerequisites for the course?

Ans. It depends on the training you want to enroll in: For the 200-hour training, all levels of students are welcome. For the 300-hour yoga teacher training, you must have completed a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. For the 85-hour prenatal teacher training: any woman planning to conceive, any mother, any yoga teacher who wants to teach prenatal yoga, or any medical professional who wants to add a yogic approach to their practice can enroll.

Q. What is the class size?

Ans. Average batch size: 20–22 students.

Q. Are the teachers qualified?

Ans. Yes. Our teachers are experienced and certified under Yoga Alliance standards, with traditional and academic backgrounds in yoga.

Q. Is there any age or body limit?

Ans. There is no strict age limit; however, we generally accept students between 18 to 60 years, provided they are physically and mentally fit.

Q. Do we have a free day?

Ans. Yes. Typically, one weekly holiday (usually Sunday) is provided.

Q. What if I have an existing condition or injury? Can I still join the training?

Ans. It is always a good idea to consult with your general practitioner before arriving for the course. Our free consultation session with our trainers will also be helpful, allowing you to discuss your issues and receive the necessary assistance. If you are suffering from a condition, our trainers will take the steps required to adjust the practice to suit your needs and make you feel comfortable.

Q. Will the certificate issued by Rishikul Yogshala be valid in my home country?

Ans. Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance International approve the certificate issued by Rishikul Yogshala. It is a globally recognised certificate in the yoga community that will also enable you to teach in your hometown.

Q. Can I pay in installments or get financial aid?

Ans. Yes. A 20% advance deposit is required to confirm your seat. The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival (within the first 2 days). We also offer a scholarship program for dedicated students who need financial support — visit our scholarship page for details.

Q. What does the course price include?

Ans. The cost of the course includes everything except for personal expenses and flights. This covers accommodation, three daily meals, tea and filtered water, course materials, excursions organized by the school, and training.

Q. Do you offer scholarships for yoga teacher training?

Ans. Yes. We offer a scholarship program for dedicated yoga students who need financial support to pursue their teacher training. Visit our scholarship page for eligibility details and how to apply.

Q. Can I pay the remaining fee by credit card?

Ans. Yes. Credit card payments are accepted. (Transaction charges approx. 5% apply.)


What to Bring

A handy checklist to help you pack smart for your yoga training in Rishikesh
Q. What should I bring for the course?

Ans. Comfortable, modest yoga clothes, personal toiletries & towel, personal medications, white-colored clothes for opening ceremony. Students may either bring their own yoga mat or purchase them locally after arrival.

Q. What clothes are preferred during yoga practice?

Ans. Modest, comfortable yoga wear. Avoid very short, revealing or transparent clothing. Swimsuits/bikinis are not permitted for practice.

Q. Should I bring mosquito repellent?

Ans. Yes, you can bring a good mosquito repellent. It is also available in India without any problem.


Cancellation & Refund Policy

Q. Advance Deposit

Ans. Advance deposit is non-refundable and non-adjustable under all circumstances including: No-show, Late arrival, Early departure, Unused days, Change of plans.

The advance amount shall be transferable to another batch subject to the following conditions:

  • For transfer to the immediate upcoming batch, written intimation must be provided at least 15 (fifteen) days prior to the commencement date of that batch.
  • For transfer to any subsequent or later batch, written intimation must be provided at least 30 (thirty) days prior to the commencement date of the selected batch.

Failure to comply with the above notice timelines shall result in forfeiture of the transfer benefit.

Q. Late Cancellation / No-Show

Ans. No refunds will be provided for cancellations at any stage or no-shows.

Q. Early Departure

Ans. If the student leaves early for any reason (personal, medical, visa, or otherwise), the deposit cannot be used for adjustment. Accommodation, meals and services already availed will be charged separately at applicable rates.

Q. Rescheduling / Transfer

Ans. Course bookings are transferable one time only within 12 months from the original booking date, subject to availability and approval. Last-minute rescheduling is not accepted.

Once a student has joined the course, the advance transfer facility shall no longer be valid. Any change of plans after joining shall not qualify for transfer of the advance amount to another batch.

Q. Personal Circumstances

Ans. No refunds due to visa issues, travel delays, flight cancellations, illness, personal reasons, pandemics, government restrictions or acts of God.
